The Mediterranean Sea, and Liguria – the Italian Riviera. That is a model of complete communication between the sky, the land and the sea. Liguria has some of the most stunning coastline in the Mediterranean; it includes the Cinque Terre, one of Italy’s top tourist attractions. Dramatic cliffs plunge into a deep blue sea.

Liguria identifies with the sea by necessity, and life between the land and the sea becomes a symbiosis, a life shared. We overlook the sea and the sea is our life.

This is the catering philosophy on board: local produce ranging from vegetable gardens along the coast to fish caught on the day. There is nothing more rewarding for the food lover, while enjoying the sea experience.

Cycling is the sport of hard working enthusiasts in close contact with nature. One can cycle all year round in the Ligurian Riviera and its inland …  in total symbiosis with the sun, the sea, and the woodlands. Whether it’s pedalling along the cycling track overhanging coastal cliffs, or practising downhill biking in the inland valleys. All such activities need to be supported by the correct food intake. This is why Ligurian cooking, with its variety, seasonality, and simplicity is essential to provide the correct food intake for cyclists. It is an extremely well balanced set of ingredients, taste, and energy. Try it for pedalling strength.

Think about a day of golf in an exclusive space. Just think of a day of golf following the footsteps of the original English tourists who brought this sport to Liguria and found places where one can play all-year-round, relaxing and enjoying extraordinary views. Then look around you. Go beyond the green and you’ll see the terraced land, the crops obtained from a difficult territory, yet endowed with a climate that is unique in Europe. There are the vegetable gardens and the olive trees all around you. And, further on, the sea. Now think of the Club House, and of your well-earned rest. You don’t need to travel further afield for a gourmet experience suitable for a golf player. Everything is within reach; all is natural but cooked and presented with passion. Let yourself be involved in cooking designed for golf players. We have done this well in Liguria and we have been the first.

A pair of boots, a backpack, food and some supplies is all you need to start your trekking adventure on the Italian Riviera.

For all levels of hikers: athletes can conquer long trails, while others can trek to their own rhythm on shorter paths. In the Italian Riviera you can find circuits suitable both for experts and families. Enjoy nature, history and local hospitality on the Italian Riviera!

Trails run through ancient forests, where the scent of olive trees and chestnuts fills the air; continue between green meadows with panoramic vistas of Ligurian medieval villages and our wonderful valleys.

Staggering scenery, well-maintained paths, and cosy mountain huts: step this ways, ladies and gentlemen, for the trek of a lifetime!

Sanremo and the Italian Riviera are in the ideal location to make sure their guests can go to the discovery of a magical expanse of sea, where during the summer months hundreds of cetaceans meet up. These nice sea mammals are protected by an international convention, which concerns a large area included between Corsica, Liguria and Southern France. It will then be easy to go out in the open sea and observe the protected species fully respecting the rules of the ecosystem. Surely you will come across dolphins and stenellas, which will start leaping out of water, playing near the boat. If you are really lucky, you will spot the placid bulk of the imposing fin whale. Or the raised tale of a sperm whale diving head-first into the sea depths, searching for great squids, its favourite food. Or bump into rarer and more peculiar specimen, one cuvier’s beaked whale, a group of Grampians, with their streaked backs. And every day will be unrepeatable emotions.

To enjoy the sea and be a leading actor in it means that you must live with it like the fishermen do. Theirs is a hard and demanding life that has its rewards. They pass down their knowledge from father to son for generations. To be a fishing tourist is like being part of an adventure, which is actually the fishermen’s everyday life. There is the thrill of starting at dawn, releasing the mooring line, exploring the fishing zones, and pulling up the nets. The reward is lunch on board. It will only be the fish found in the water on the day, but there will be plenty of it and it will be earned. Everything is shared: strength, support, and the fish that’s caught. This will be a complete experience of sea life.
