Duration: 4-5 hours approx
The Val Nervia is an absolute must-see place of the Riviera dei Fiori. It is one of the loveliest parts of Liguria’s hinterland. This is the domain of Rossese di Dolceacqua, one of Italy’s finest wines and one of Italy’s best kept secrets.
Dolceacqua is a medieval village dominated by the imposing ruins of the Castello dei Doria which towers over the old town on the left bank of the river. The Impressionist painter Claude Monet immortalized Dolceacqua on his canvas. “The place is superb, there is a bridge that is a jewel of lightness”, he wrote in his diary. A single-arched 15th-century bridge leads to the old town. You’ll experience a nice walk on this worldwide famous bridge!
After the visit of Dolceacqua Medieval village, your unique experience will continue, and you’ll discover the soul of the Nervia Valley, where local stones, olive trees and vineyards melt together, and create the typical Ligurian landscape, made of blue and green shadows.
On the top of the valley vineyards are kissed by the mild breeze arriving from the sea, and you can enjoy a unique wine tasting, pairing local wines including Rossese di Dolceacqua and other two wines produced by the winery we visit – pairing them with local specialties.
This is the best way to relax, enjoy Nature and good wines. La Dolce Vita at its best!
