The day will be dedicated to a unique, authentic Ligurian experience … You’ll discover the local “green gold”, the extra-virgin olive oil DOP Riviera Ligure – Riviera dei Fiori (i.e. PDO, protected designation of origin), and the Taggiasca olive, the queen among olives.
You’ll see olive trees holding up the dry stone walls and you’ll visit an enchanting village in the valley. The tour will be led by a licensed tourist guide.
Our local expert will illustrate the features of extra virgin olive oil DOP Riviera Ligure Riviera dei Fiori and you will enjoy an in-depth guided oil tasting.
This freshly squeezed extra virgin olive or EVO oil of a golden light straw-yellow color, is pleasantly fruity in taste, and has a delicate hint of sweetness. Its unique and smooth taste makes it is an ideal accompaniment to Mediterranean dishes. But there is more: the olives from the Taggia area are crushed in local “frantoi” within 24 hours of harvesting so the finished product hasn’t lost any of the more than 200 therapeutic properties researchers are discovering on an ongoing basis.
You’ll meet the families that have been growing olive trees and producing olive oil for generations, and you’ll savour the ancient and natural taste of local traditions.
The experience includes a typical Ligurian brunch (tasting local specialties and Ligurian DOC wines) among olive groves and local kitchen gardens.
